Haddock also belongs to the family of the codlike fishes. It looks quite similar to cod, but can be distinguished by its black line on the side and its black dot above the pectoral fin. Haddock generally prefers waters far from the coast, but its sensitivity to temperature makes it move depending on water and nutrition conditions.

Haddock can grow up to 1,0 meters, can reach a weight of 15 kg and up to 20 years of age. It is one of the most valuable lean fishes, which means its meat has a low fat content but it is rich in protein and vitamins. Haddock has a pleasantly strong taste of iodine and sea.
