Certifications – Greenland Seafood Europe

IFS FOOD

In order to guarantee optimal food safety and maximum confidence in the manufacturer, the main professional association of the German Retail Trade (the HDE) together with the representatives of the retail foods trade have developed the International Featured Standard Food (IFS Food). It is a standard recognized by the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) for auditing food manufacturers. The focus of IFS Food lies on food safety and quality of the processes and products. In the production this assures continuous monitoring and compliance with food safety laws.

Both Greenland Seafood factories in Wilhelmshaven and Boulogne-sur-Mer have been audited and certified with the IFS Food Grade “High Level” for several years by now.

IFS BROKER

IFS Broker certification aims to ensure the safety and quality of products based on a uniform evaluation system and to close the gap between production and sales.

This creates comparability and transparency across the entire supply chain. The standard checks how dealers select their suppliers and whether they act in accordance with product safety and quality requirements. This ensures that the delivered goods meet legal and customer-specific requirements.

Both Greenland Seafood sales offices in Bremen and Paris are certified with the IFS Broker Note “Higher Level” (certificate).

BRC GLOBAL STANDARDS

The British Retail Consortium (BRC) has established this technical standard for suppliers in the food sector. Like IFS (International Featured Standard Food), BRC is recognized by the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative).

This standard requires the implementation of the HACCP system, a documented QM system and the control of hygiene conditions with regard to products, processes and employees.

For many years, the Greenland Seafood factories in Wilhelmshaven and Boulogne-sur-Mer have been repeatedly certified with the BRC grade “AA+ Grade” and BRC grade “B+ Grade”.
